Fire/Rescue sites obviously own a big chunk of the World Wide Web pie. Many departments find a way to represent themselves online either through pages on a city site, an independent department site or an unofficial site created by firefighters/buffs.

Some departments are really proud of their sites. I know I've seen photos of apparatus with web addresses affixed in one way or another (i.e. license plates, reflective lettering, etc.). Can anyone point me to a few of these departments and/or photos of their apparatus?

I'd say try www.hvfd.com ...The Hyattsville Volunteers in PG County, MD...A bunch of the webteam on here runs there and helps run that site.

Houston Fire Dept has their website on the side of their trucks as well. I'd do the same for my dept but our site is too long.

We're looking at doing this also. Our next-door neighbors to the west, the West Lanham Hills VFD has had their website lettered on the bottom of the rear compartment doors on all apparatus for several years now, and several more departments in PG Co. have followed suit. Look at www.wlhvfd.com and www.gdvfd18.com and... Oh, just go to Maryland in the "Links" and pick up from there... Stay Safe....
