Does anyone know if there is a law in the Colorado Revised Statutes that states one must be firefighter 1 inorder to enter the red zone of the fire. If you know please let me in on it, I would be most thankful.
PS If you know please e-mail me ASAP at kgutschick@hotmail.com

To the best of my knowledge there is no colorado state law that says you must be Firefighter 1 to enter the red zone. However there may be a department policy that states that. You can check CRS on line through the state web site.

Like he said it could be your department.
For me I'm in a class where everyone but myself can participate with there department in asewering calls. Infact my department does not want me to even go to control burns.
As much as I would like to I have to respect that because it would fall back on them if I was to go and get injuried. By OSHA you are not suppose to do anything on a fire scene that you have not been signed off on as doing. If you do and get injurie or caught your department and your self can be in alot of trouble.
