If at the beginning of the season someone told me the Anaheim Angels were going to the WS I would have laughed. Wow, who woulda thought that with all these teams the ANGELS were going to make it. Personally, between the Twins and Angels, I would have liked to see the Twins make it to make this the WS from Hell for Bud Selig. :p

Those were the words Russ Hodges screeched into his microphone on Oct. 3, 1951, as Bobby Thomson hit "The Shot Heard 'Round the World." At least, it was the home run heard from Flatbush to Coogan's Bluff, shattering the Dodgers 5-4 in the rubber match of a three-game playoff needed to decide the National League championship.
My father still talkes about that game.....

Anybody who knows baseball...still talks about that game! What a thrilling call!

The shot heard round the world! Ralph Branca was pitching for Brooklyn.
