California, like other states may have some places
that may be behind and stuck in the "old skool".
But not the entire state.

Chief Taylor...

I can't tell if you are serious or exhibiting a little tongue in cheek humor!

I heaved a few wooden ground ladders during my basic firefighter training at the Fire Academy, including a 50 footer...talk about heavy and labor intensive. Properly cared for, they can last as long if not longer than aluminum and composite ladders. I know of a few FD's that have wooden ladders that have passed annual testing while their aluminum and composite ones failed!

Tactical tupperware? No thank you, I love my leather!

Black turnouts? Who cares about the color..it's the level of protection that counts!

It doesn't matter if its "old skool" or "new skewl"...fire is an unforgiving taskmaster!

Capt Gonzo- Chief Taylor (my best bro) is just trying to
be funny. This is what he trys to do with limited
information and some times it back fires on him.

PS- I'll take my "First Due" any day over leather.
The fire doesnt go out any faster with the extra
weight on my head. Peace...
