We are deeply saddened by the tremendous loss to our department and to the families of our fallen brothers. In the wake of September 11 our band has labored to preserve the customs of the fire service, and to provide a proper tribute to those who gave all on that tragic day. Honoring our brethren and their sacrifice has taken its toll on our uniforms and equipment. We are in need of sponsors. The cost of uniforms, equipment, and travel expenses for a band with 70 members (one third of which are retired FDNY over the age of 65) are just a few of the reasons why sponsorship is essential for the band to stay in existence. Your sponsorship will allow us to continue to promote the ideals of FDNY, to preserve the customs, traditions and history of our Irish heritage in the fire service. If you or your organization would like to be a sponsor, please mail your contribution to: FDNY Emerald Society Pipes & Drums, P.O. Box 868, Pearl River, NY 10965 or contact us at pipemajor@fdnypipesanddrums.co m. You may also visit our website at http://fdnypipesanddrums.com/ or contact John O'Hagan at 845-735-2260.

I had the opportunity to meet about 25 members of the Emerald Society
Pipes and Drums at last weeks IAFF Fallen Firefighters Memorial. These guys are the best!
Once again they left their families and crews to fly half way across the country to honor thier brothers and play at the memorial.
It was my honor to meet these men, what a class act they all are.
Just my two cents.
