View Full Version : Free music downloads?

Just wondering how many or if there are any brothers or sisters out there who download free music. If you do could you post some of the sites you use. I have a guy I work with who swears by it, and says he will never buy another CD again and that its legal. Lets just say its not someone whom I work with often nor that I completely believe. Any input would be great.

ALSfirefighter, I use the program called Imesh to download music (www.imesh.com), and from what I know about the whole downloading music, etc is that it is legal..unless..you are downloading like every song from a certain CD, then burning it onto a CD and selling them. Another program is Kazaa (www.kazaa.com), but I have noticed from the site itself and other people, that Kazaa has a nasty virus going around. I hope this helped you.

Program is easy to set up, never had any problems with it.

do a search for KaZaA lite, its the same as kazaa, but it doesnt have the nasty spyware to deal with.

KaZaA Lite is at www.kazaalite.com and I use it all the time. Very easy.

ALS.. check out CNET.com You can find tons of free downloads there for the music programs. I use Kazaa, Morpheus and to a lesser extent Win MX Kazaa and Morpheus are my favorites, but Im going to try Bear Share.

Hate to be different and put down on ya'lls program but I use winmx (www.winmx.com) and it's awesome. I don't ever have any problems with it and it always has tons of different people that I can download from. My brother had kazaa at one point and whenever I would look up any songs on there it would only finds a few people to d/l from. I also had imesh at one point before I knew about winmx and it was constantly causing my computer to freeze (I know it was the program because it didnt start causing problems until I d/led the program and it stoped once I deleted it.

I use Kazaa with very few problems. I believe most of the problem is my antique hardware and software.

I didn't know about the virus in Kazaa either. Thanks tc/cdfexplorer for the info.

Hehe even fire fighters love to download.
well to let you all know is be carefull on where u download your music. Some places can be a stomping ground for virus ect. i use winmx
