Gonzo:
Perhaps we could list the officers, board of directors and the BMI squad somewhere on the website as well. 1835wayne could probably come up with a list of charter members. Or at least create a link to a membership list.
Some time ago, I posted some suggestions in an IACOJ related thread about meetings and such, but I never heard back from you. Now that we have a website, here are some thoughts:
We will meet in our cyber meeting room on the last Sunday of each month at 2100 hours EST. For the first meeting, you would establish agenda items. Thereafter, anyone wanting on the agenda would do so by going to the website and requesting their item. By meeting time, JTL could have an agenda posted. Any vote items could be acted upon by members in good standing. Well, anyway, you get the idea.
So, what do you think? Do-able?
IMACOJ and proud of it.

A LOT OF WORK??????????? RUBBISH AND POPPYCOCK!!!! It is actually fun to do. I cannot take all of the credit for the site though, a NC brother had set up the space to use for free and he is the one that did the FLASH intro.
Here is the list of what I need from the members and officers of the I.A.C.O.J.
1. A comprehensive list of officers I know someone has it I just dont know who.
2. Members list (has anyone been keeping track????)
Pardon the slow upstart and lack of content, you guys know how work and responsibility get in the way of fun times right????

It took a while cause I am not used to words longer than sheep but,
Procrustean \Pro*crus"te*an\ (?), a. Of or pertaining to Procrustes, or the mode of torture practiced by him; producing conformity by violent means; as, the Procrustean treatment; a Procrustean limit. See Procrustes.
Procrustes n : (Greek mythology) a mythical giant who was a thief and murderer; he would capture people and tie them to an iron bed, stretching them or hacking off their legs to make them fit; was killed by Theseus [syn: Procrustes]
the key being producing conformity by violent means
A fair call with some of the MUTTS displayed here recently.

Procrustean:

2: marked by arbitrary often ruthless disregard of individual differences or special circumstances

Great job MOTOWN! Though I don't see eye to eye with you when it comes to the Red Wings, having read that you are a rugby player, I just know that you're all right. I spent 18 years playing flanker myself. When I slowed down they tried to move me to second row so I move myself to first barstool. Have been off line for a while as I got the Klev virus and it ate all my cookies. Would like to get the idiots who start these things in the middle of a ruck just once!

One small detail, we seem to have enough rugby players to start a team or at least make a good drinking side or perhaps even 7's.
I notice though, we don't seem to have any backs.......on second thought, who needs them!
Reminds me of the time we were playing a team that had this monster of a man playing number 8 for them and he was killing us. We decided that someone should commit some offence which would anger him enough to cause him to be ejected (I'll let your imagination decide what that was.) Being democratic and realizing the danger involved it was decided by a vote of 8 to 7 that it should be a back. By a further vote of 6 to 1 they decided it would be the blind-side winger. Great strategy, unfortunately he chickened out...typical back.

Here are some old rugby sayings:
Rugby is sophisticated violence
Rugby is a ruffians game played by gentlemen, soccer is a gentlemens game played by ruffians.
It takes leather balls to play rugby
Rugby is the only game where your wife doesn't mind you playing with hookers.
There are no rules in rugby, we have laws instead
Rugby and firefighting seem to mix well
If you pour it they will come
There is nothing to fear but beer itself

There is only one way to tackle a person, HARD.
If you are moving faster than them you will drive them backwards.
However a 120 pound person might have a wee problem with 266 pound Jonah Lomu.
That is kinda like going head to head against a pumper.

When I was playing our props were slightly enough differing in height, to the point that I was frequently getting shoved left side first into the scrum. Being a lefty, I wanted to keep that shoulder intact. I remember playing the Carolina club side and one of our backs dislocating HIS shoulder. Talk about ethical dilemmnas- treat the patient or drag him out and resume play.
Needless to say, he was a trooper; he drove himself to the nearest trauma center.

President Gonzo:
I submit the following for your entertainment:
Ballad of a COJ
When out of the dust
There arose such a crust,
As far as the eye could see…
With boots pulled up high
He let out a cry;
“Crusty old jakes, are we”.
While jerking on hose,
Black snot dripped from their nose
And leather covered their head…
With gray hair and a wrinkle
In their eyes was a twinkle,
To a junior, this was said:
“Have a heart of a lion,
And never stop tryin’
To reach for your dream;
Always be quick and
When the sh*t gets thick,
Remember the rest of your team.
Listen, look and learn,
Wait for your turn
And give unselfishly…
You’ve pass the test
Just like the rest;
You’re a crusty old jake like me!”

Folks
Here or elsewhere, we're not going to be bashed for simply posting a new rule. Those that choose to do so can go elsewhere to participate, as you will no longer have posting privelages here.
Its not a power trip, its a request to show some respect to others. Most of those who attacked us had nothing to do with the reason it was posted to begin with. But since you choose to do nothing but bash us, you are welcome to go and stay posting elsewhere.
Note to users, this relates to posts and comments made elsewhere. We don't need to hear or see '(*#&$(&*#% the WebTeam' anywhere for a simple rule that doesn't harm anyone.
As the MAJORITY of readers can see we leave most threads wide open on topics, including the I.A.C.O.J. stuff here in the Off Duty Forums. However, the MINORITY will ruin it for everyone if all they can be is negative. Its a difficult job as it is managing several thousand posts and theads a week, without that.
We opened the Off-Duty Threads for the explicit purpose of serving our users, and giving them a place for relatively free flow discussion. If that can't include a few boundaries we ask for, we'll have no choice but to close this topic category.
Thanks
