DJ "Lou" Back..Highway to Hell blasting...actually had it on driving back on the Mass Pike comming back from medic clinical...seemed fitting.
Irish Car Bombs sound good. Anyone participate in the Guiness Toast on Fri night? We sold a record number of guiness' at the bar I work at that night. Then last night had a Cherry Bomb promo. Red Bull and 3 cherry's Vodka from Lewiston ME (where's LewistonCapt? lol) Talk about a bunch of wired drunks..
PS Sorry if I'm rambling...worked the bar last night, and then ER clinicals today...been a long few days...

If I stop making sense, just slap me in the back of the head. That always used to work for my mother. Still to this day it amazes me that even with her being in a wheelchair, she could still get me without even knowing...Gotta love NY Italians...lol

So far, so good "Lou". I gotta admit I kinda worry about you burning out. Be careful...
Oh, and one more thing, did I read that your name is Jeremy or am I somewhat confused?
I'll drink whatever you're serving today. I'm not feeling overly picky.

LeuitEFDems
02-21-2005, 12:25 PM
Thanks Rookie, it's nice to have brothers and sisters watching out for me. I am all too keenly aware of burning myself out, I've done it before. It got to the point where I needed to see a shrink, so now I watch myself. Yes, my name is Jeremy. the "DJ Lou" came from me being a Lieutenant. I'll buy ya a round of whatever you want, I could use a drink too. Gotta go do laundry then back to clinicals to deal with the pedi ER tonight.

ROOKIELZ
02-21-2005, 12:29 PM
Oh dear; I could make a real joke about "doing the laundry" but I just got my halo cleaned and I don't want to mess it up (again):D

This has got to be the first bar I've been in that doesn't have posted drink specials.

So what should I actually call you: Lou, Jeremy, who do you want to be?:D

LeuitEFDems
02-21-2005, 12:35 PM
either or is fine...I was gonna say call me whatever you want...but that could lead to bad things...lol:D Thankfully the snow's over here so I don't have to do my hour long drive on crappy roads.

Why is there a pair of bra and panties hanging from your halo?

Drink specials are whatever I say they are at the time. Sometimes I even give them away if you act right. But I don't see that happening anytime soon.

They were obviously planted by person's unknown or should I say unproven?

"Relax, Max"; I don't want anything from you for free; believe me:rolleyes: I suspect it would be altered with some poison anyway. Unless you are still using that boyish technique of trying to insult those who intrigue you. Keep trying...it all rolls off me like water off a duck's back.:p

Still taking applications for my personal security; is there no valiant male out there willing to protect me?? 1219: just apply-we all know you want to:D

I can make a Bloody Mary but 1219 would likely have a hissy fit if I touched his bar. Meet you in the parking lot.

Rookie... tell 1219 that someone wants to see his "truck". We'll get into a discussion with him about the differences between a "truck" and "bone box" and tie up his time so you can sneak behind the bar and make a few cocktails with the good stuff! :D

Would you like something to drink, el presidente? What kind of good stuff would you like?

I'm busy on the 'bone box' right now, but I get off at 2000 and will have plenty of time to party or relax and have drinks if anyone is up to it. I feel up to a few mich lights. Anyone want to join me?

There will be no sneaking behind my bar. If you want something, just ask and you shall receive. ROOKIE, you serving any food tonight? I want some chicken wings with bleu cheese. Perhaps even some mozzerela sticks....?

1219, you do know that the engine has the hose, the truk has the latter, and the ambulance is what a patient gets to ride in? Also since you've been working so much, I don't think you can stop us from going behind the bar~cause you haven't said anything about those 4-7 drinks I took and handed out...:)

Awww... a pizza has arrived! Oh, good there's no fungus on it(mushrooms)! :)

one one = 1 1

11 shots of tequila for LeuitEFDems/DJ "Lou"/Jeremy, wow I wouldn't even dare to do that many. but allright. ;) :D

Hmmmm...haven't decided yet in what to call you. decisions, decisions, also do we call Weruj1; Weruj1, Joshie, Josh or something else? seriously do you gentlemen have a preference. LeuitEFDems/DJ "Lou"/Jeremy, you've already said either one will be fine, but there's not one you lean more to? Ok maybe I've been up for to long. :D

Definately NOT 11 shots. :D You'd have to call EMS if I did even close to 11 shots. I did 2 tequila shots in Cancun, and right after the 2nd, I had to find the nearest bathroom. Not a fun time.
Weruj, I'm not even gonna ask about the "ass cheese" name....:p

The dancing invitation is extended to all the GENTLEMEN here and who may pass through. That would include Josh, Jeremy, Stan, CaptainGonzo, kiwi, ect. not in any particular order.

But Jeremy, I am an EMT. And I'm sure we have plenty of EMS crew in the pub. :D

Don't worry I've had a similar experience ONCE. Here's ONE shot of tequila, if you're feeling up to it again later I got the bottle. :D

Now that I have your attention; I just landed 82% of a full time rotation after 8 years of bagging it at the Nursg. Home.

Belly up to the bar for your drinks, folks:D :D :D :D

Are you putting the "square bracket"size=4"square bracket"message body"square bracket"/size "square bracket" with your comments in between the two? Same goes for quotes, etc. You have to put the first bracketed command to start the process and then you have to put the bracket with the slash command to end the process.

Been there done that Steamer,
A few years ago, did the same thing, and ended up having a perminant reminder of it..a nice 1 1/2" scar in my left eyebrow from my sunglasses cutting into it after striking my head on the bench of the catamran I was on. Athough it goes along quite nicely with the scar on the eback of my head from going off the side of a cliff skiing. (Wow...I've had some pretty good head injuries....that explains alot:D )

Where is everyone?

I've been off playing Gran Turismo 4 so much that I'm starting to form a calous on my right thumb.

I don't have to work again until the 4th, and I have the house all to myself until Friday. What to do, what to do...

Maybe I'll go pick up a keg, or 2.

ROOKIELZ
02-28-2005, 12:35 AM

Ok...who's up for some drinks...? I know I am. I'm supposed to be doing my CCU rotation right now, but becasue of the Nor'easter, it got canceled. SO, I;ve got some time on my hands and nothing to do. Plus, I don;t wanna look at the snow anymore.:p

JorieH
03-01-2005, 01:24 AM
You don't want to look at the snow? I don't even want the snow. This is depressing. When's the sun going to shine bright again, and the leaves turn green and flowers bloom and colorful butterflies fill the sky? hell i'd be happy if it was 85*F, but instead it's snowing. :( Yuck!

Hmmmmm...bartender i'd like something to warm me up inside and make me instantly giggly.:) A Long Island Ice Tea should do, please. Hey what about those pics?

ROOKIELZ
03-01-2005, 11:41 AM
I like snow and I don't mind a temp of about -20*c. More than that and I prefer to cuddle up with the fireplace, blanket, pillow, book and cup of tea.
However, I keep looking at my travel-trailer and boat and thinking how long it is until we get to the lake:mad:

I think in the spirit of summer, I would like a strawberry daiquiri please.

I was gonna post the pictures on IACOJ, but can't figure out how. I will post some of the better pictures here if you want to see them.

The pictures don't look that great becuase the old scanner sucked. Just got a new one and don't feel like re-scanning.

One of my favorites. I leave you with the sunset from under the blue bridge (thinking Fuller-Warren but not quite sure).

I hade some pictures of the midnight downtown skyline with the bridge all lit up but they looked very crappy. They fixed JAX all up for the super bowl. All of the bridges and everything else look brand new. They put lights all over the bridge and it looked spectacular at night.

Wow! I missed a good part of the party! Tested all weekend, midterm on sprinklers and standpipes last monday, now vegetating and training....hmmmm feeling a bit conflicted; vegetate vs. training. Yah I'm gong to train some more. Right after a few drinks with ya all! :) 1219, pass another rum and coke down here, please...and don't skip the rum. :)

hmmmm...what activities are going on now.....what to do, what to do...
1835Wayne, are ya sure that was a "bonnie Lass" it might have been whatever was giggling in the box earlier. Did you open the box?:D

I am sure it was a Lass, she wispered sweet nothings in my ear, then turned on the light in the closet. You will never guess who from the forums it was!!!( and YES it was a female dang it!)

Alright. Just thought maybe it was the chimp that was swinging on the rafters. Ya know the female chimps are the agressors for mating. ;) But since you're sure it was a Lass, now comes the question on "who from the forums it was"?~or is this a secret?

It's not a 'truck'. It's a rescue...

I'm ready for several beers. It's been a hard shift, with lots of helo transports, a code/stabbing, several wrecks and lots of other calls too. I've only gotten 2 hours of sleep. :(

No no no. There is a line in "A party for two" when he's just wearing socks. I don't remember exactly how it goes, but it's there.

Now how about "Nothing on but the radio", who sings that again? I get happy mental pictures when I hear this song. ;) :D

That reminds me of a blond joke.
A blond wearing head phones walks into a beauty shop and asks for a wash and cut. The washer asks to remove the head phones, but the blond insists on keeping them during the wash. The blond then goes to the stylist. the stylist asks her to remove the head phones during the cut. But the blond insists that they stay on. After the stylist trys to cut the hair, she says "This is ridiculous." and removes the head phones. The blond then drops dead. When the stylist picks up the head phones and listens she hears "Breath in...breath out...breath in...breath out...":D ~Hey, I am blond so I'm allowed to make as many blond jokes as I like.:D

Hey all...thanks for the warm welcome and not making me suffer too long for being a newbie around here (not just to the site but to the (vol) fire service). I may start asking a few questions to this group, so hope you don't mind if I do...just taking you up on your invitation Leuit (I like that better that Lou and didn't you say we could call you anything??? :p )

At 38 I'm wondering if I'm too old to start doing something like this but there seems to be a passion in my heart for it. I really envy those in the fire service (suppression & EMS) who knew at an early age that that's what they wanted to do.

Top o' the morning to all! Bailey's in the coffee sounds great! Would give me the edge I need to pinch someone!

Hey Josh, how long you going to milk the 5000 post thing? . (JK....at a measly 15 or so posts, I'm just jealous!)

Stan the man...thanks for the support. 1219, who?

Rookie, I don't feel so bad then...thanks for the encouragement! Now if I can only get the folks to accept me around the dept. I walked into each shift (we're staffed full time career) last week to introduce myself to the medics & folks and ask if they'd be willing to work with me on the basics (I'm in EMT class right now). Volley's aren't at the station many nights so it's hard to get someone to work with me. One medic was just great. Another was hesitant but opened up and was starting to help me when he had to run a few calls. The last one just out right told me that training was not his responsibility and that he HAD to let me ride. So if I wanted to ride, I should sign up. End of discussion.

I don't take it personally...heck I can understand his point of view completely. I can't imagine how many volleys come and go. I'm just thinking that if they show me the way they do things, they'd be more comfortable with me working with them. I'm trying to be proactive, meet people, learn my stuff (naturally, it'll take time) but do ya'll have any tips for me when working with the career folks and other volley's? I think I can hang with anyone, am pretty upbeat, etc. Don't think I'll have much problem fitting in, but am definitely open to advice from the experts.

After all that, I'll take another spiked coffee! Cheerio!

My first advice to you is ignore firefighter1219. He thinks he runs the place, has all the experience and he does not know the difference between a gut bus and an aerial ladder. He calls them both a "truck!"

Not cool man. I took the initiative to be the bartender, and I've been doing my best to run the place ever since. No one loves me anymore. :(

1219, who?

That's just plain hateful.

I propose a moment of silence and a salute to little 9 year old Jessica Lunsford of Homosassa Florida who was abducted and subsequently killed. Stumbling through the door...Hey everyone...back from a great wedding. Gotta love open bar! The 3 1/2 hour each way drive kinda sucked, but it was worth it. A good time was had by all. I've never been to a wedding before where the groomsmen wore kilts. I was impressed. I'm still trying to dry out a little bit, so I'll just take a heinken. Anything exciting happen while I was gone? It's snowing and blowing and I don't think my RV and boat are going to be getting out any time soon.:(

Someone pass me a shot of something. Then I'll go to bed and probably wake up somewhat happier:rolleyes:

I'm going into the kitchen to make some homemade soup. Anyone want some? Oh yeah, Stan and 1219 won't need any because they are sitting in +80* weather. (HMMMFF)

Coffee liquor with some coconut milk mixed in. I just made that up by the way. Well as least it sounds warm. There's a certain brand of tequila made with coffee that would be perfect for that. Can't remember what kind.

And no it is not just your decision. My neighbor has a puppy he's giving away (FREE!).
It's a Dachshund, it's house broken,
and it's great with kids.

He's giving it away because his wife
says the dog 'stares' at her, and
that gives her the 'Heebie Jeebies'.

If you're interested, or know someone who is, let me know.

Rookie,
Yes cabin fever has kicked in big time! Plus having my screwy clinical schedule isn't helping matters either. I got an emial last week from people I met in Cancun 2 years ago, telling me they're gonna be down again in April...unfortunately its the same week I'll be doing my medic ride time with FDNY. Guess you missed the J/K at the end. It means just kidding.

I understand the pros and cons of lights. I used to cut the light on and drive like a maniac. Now that I'm getting a little older, I'm learning that there will still be plenty to do whether I make the first out or the last out. If someone yields while responding, fine. If they don't, no big loss. But I would still like to have a little bit of flash for when I have to park on the side of the road. I'll wait a while and see how I feel about it later.

Hey Rookie --
EMT-B practicals and class are working on me....at least I'm not among the failing (yet??). Can you get me double Grandad, no ice? I can just feel it going down the esophagus.......the ever slight burn.........aahhhhh!!

Aside from not knowing that the tension pneumothorax had nothing to do with paradoxical movement.....I'm racking my wee brain trying to figure out why my car got 50 miles less per tank (mpt) than it used to after I got a new water pump and timing belt put in. That repair came with an oil leak (no extra charge) so I take it somewhere else to fix the leak two months later and now all of a sudden, I'm getting my 320 mpt back again?? Sin Wagon--Pixie Chirps (I mean Dixie Chicks:D )
stop for a drink
Believe-Cher
stop for a drink
dance to something else that we don't know the title of...
drink
forget to dance
drink

Are you seeing any kind of pattern here?:D

Stan: Shania is singing, "Whose Bed have your boots been Under?"

Oh, and we want to help "Lou" through his tough time so what shall we plan for him?
Hot tubs and nice girls? (no badge bunnies allowed:mad: )
Beer IV?
A "lucky" lottery ticket?
A dance-a-thon till "Lou" drops into an exhausted sleep?;)

Thanks Rookie...
The hot tub sounds good...could use one. I've been running myself so thin, that I feel like I'm wound tight. Beer IV? Throw a 14 into these pipes...(offering you my arm)
"Lucky" lottery ticket? No such thing exists in my world..most I've won was $20.
Dance-athon- Does the whiteboy dance count? because that's all I can do...lol:D

It's your lucky day "Lou."
Everything you want is coming your way. I bet you were so busy looking at the girls in the hot tub you didn't even feel me start your IV:D
Anything else we can do for you?

Thanks Rookie..I hope you're running the beer bag in wide open:D
I think a flaming shot of sambuca would be in order now too...care to join me?
Happy Easter everyone!

If I get drunk who will pamper you?
Wait, don't answer that question; I don't want to know about the competition...:D

Sambucca, flaming on the way.

Stan, Weruj, Jorie, Skywalker, and 1219: could you be a little louder please? I can hardly hear you guys...:)

Sounds like you may need a few drinks too, with your ongoing drivers ed classes....Getting any better yet? That's one thing I'm dreading if/when I become a parent...that and the "1st date"...especially if I have a girl. I'm kiinda over protective like that...:p

Is it considered intimidating if the "mother" cleans her weapon in front of the boyfriend?:D :D :D
What kind of a nice boy has a nickname like "roadkill" anyway? Surely that's no reason for a mother to be nervous?

The driving is much improved. Soon Father will get into a vehicle with her:rolleyes:. You just know things are gonna bust loose then!

Well, if he get's to you, you can always make him live up to his nickname!:D
All I can picture of this gentleman is spikey hair (or no hair) earrings and tattoos all around.....(AKA cheesy 80's "badboy") How close am I? lol

Skyraider...you mean you're supposed to go to church first? opps..my bad...(quietly doing 10 Hail Mary's)

"Roadkill" is a hockey playing 16 yo with reletively short hair, working on his driver's licence and the son of my Chief. No earrings, no tattoos but known to be a tad wild.

Skyraider: You can drink here any time you'd like; you are always welcome here.

A puck between his teeth may tame him a bit, eh? They wouldn't be "puckering" up after that for a while! :D

So yall sound like you know how to have a good time.

The driving thing sounds scary. (Good luck with that)The boyfriend thing yah sounds SCARIER! (Dito).

But back to pub talk.

Didint know of really any bars in the area till I joined a local pipe group and now after the St.Pats ongoing extravaganza I think Im a regular at mor than half of them now. Atleast in the past 3 weeks Ive spent enough time in them that every one knows me. Is that a bad thing?

Hey Happy Easter, Happy spring.....Happy happy everything!
