Accelerant Detection Canines - Health

I am training and operating the Fire Brigade's Accelerant Detection Canine in Sydney, Australia, and are wondering if anyone knows of any research that has been conducted on the health affects on ADC's. I am in the process of testing our Canine's blood and interpreting chest xray results. Can anyone advise me of other health aspects to measure, and/or other research that has been conducted.

Contact the California State Fire Marshal's Office. They have a number of ADC and they are tested regularly. They have had their program for many years now. Also check with the Conneticut State Fire Marshal's Office as well.

Also, you may wish to check with CADA (Canine Accelerant Detection Association). Just do a search under that name and their website should come up.

there was an article printed in the last issue of fire and arson investigator about this. the authors raise some food for thought but i dont agree with all that they said. there is a few articles in the magazine infact. good luck.
