Rechargeable batteries

Has anyone had a rechargeable (Ni-Cd or Ni-MH)or lithium battery cause a fire? What were the circumstances?

I just heard today that the Hasbro (sp?) Star Wars Light Sabre has been recalled because its batteries have been overheating and or exploding. I don't know if they were the rechargable type or any other circumstances beyond that.
