Well, I think the subject says it all, plus I would like to know where near Seattle do they offer a Jr. FF program? What is the Jr. FF program all about too? Is it different then Explorer? Qualifications, etc...
Thanks, Be Safe. http://www.firehouse.com/interactive/boards/smile.gif

Here, in PA, explorers have to be 14 yrs and jrs have to be 16 yrs of age. But thats just my company, I have heard of companies starting explorers at age 12! My advice is to call or write your local fire company and ask them. Good Luck!

Fire Department Explorers are the same as Explorers. The post can be run by any one as long as you come up to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) guidelines. If your interested in starting an Explorer Post or becoming a member of the local post, you need to contack the BSA for the Post closest to you. Most fire departments are looking at Explorer Posts rather than Jr Firefighter programs because the BSA picks up the insurance costs & have a proven program that you must follow. The nice thing is that you can expand on the basic program. Explorer Posts are normally open to youths ages 13 to 21. If you have any other questions you can contact the BSA or E-Mail me directly and ill try to help you.
