Firefighter nicknames

I know this has a link but whats some of the station's guys nicknames<br />like mine are: Ox(cause i'm big 6 ft 6 300 lb), the kid(i'm 20 yrs old), Big Bird(cause my waterball gear is bright yellow), probbie(cause i'm a rookie fireman but i'm a volunteer and i'm still a probbie)(i never knew we had probbies in vol. depts)

Oh boy, you just had to go there didn't ya. Well here we go again, and I'm happy that I'm gonna be the first, so I can beat everybody to it. Well we have this one guy whos only been in the service for a couple of years, he's a pretty big guy and he's real hairy, so we call him "LINK" as in the missing link. Oh yeah, he's not too sure weather he want's to be a medic or a firefighter yet, so he's all gung-ho on everything. He's been there, seen that, knows it all, well needless to say, he's always getting hurt and he's pretty much the shift joke......<br />So from this day forward, he has a new nickname....we decided to call him...<br />................."MAPLEWOOD"...............

Sorry, couldn't help it, I'm serious though, He'll never figure this one out.... Hey MFD, at least you can say that you've pretty much been the spice in our lives the past couple of days.... Take care..

I forgot another one of mine "Cowboy" cause I believe big time in rope/webbing in gear and my chief things i'm nuts cause i carry 20 ft of 1/4 inch with spring clips.Plus once during a water rescue i tried to lasso someone in the water. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> I know stupid. <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

Mine is "Stump" because I'm short and thick. 5'-6" and 210 lbs. That's not fat. Some tried to rename me to "Bull Dog" but it didn't stick like "Stump".

I was just given one today after sliding on ice off the road in my POV on the way to the station for a house fire. no damage just a close incounter with a chain link fence <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> However i did make the first in engine and while doing overhaul of what turned out to be a chimney/partion fire one of the Lt's looks @ me and says "i've got a nickname for u now, CRASH" it could be worse, its yet to b seen if it sticks.

Things aren't all that different down under. As my name implies with Brother Cow 73 I'm Cowboy,recently retired from Station 73 Fairfield, in the City of Fairfield, Sydney, N.S.W.. I have been in the good company of Bothers "Bruiser" "Maggot" "Judy" "Studd" "Iceman" "Mumbles" "Goanna" "O'*hit O'Shea" "Ghekko" "Phantom" "Legend" "Prong" "Fat Cat" " Agro" & "Flatliner" just to mention a few. If a guys surname is Roach, then naturally he will get "Cocka" as a nick name. Nick names are great and sometimes one will forget what a guys REAL name is due to constant referal to his nick name. Firefighters around the world are all the same. I believe we all have a little section 8 in us, that's how we do what we gotta do. Think about it, we are all right! It's every one else outside the Brotherhood who are missing out. Buy for now Brother Cow.
