I was wondering what type of shift FDNY worked. I thought they worked 10/14 shift, but I am not sure. Any help would be great.

normally they work 24 on, 48 off, if they pair up w/ a partner. it's been nuts the past few days, and it's anyones quess as to what it is now (changed like 3 times in a week).
don't take my post as gospel, cause I aint a FDNY FF. In FDNY-EMS, we work a 'typical' 5 days a week, 37 1/2 hours (we don't get paid for a half hour per tour . . . . don't ask why. some bs contratct agreement sometime ago.

Last I heard (one week ago) they were working 24 on 24 off due to the tragedy. But those 24 hours off are deceiving. Many of them spent a great deal of that at "Ground Hero" as Cardinal Egan put it.
