What does the Chief's Aide do?

If your department has an Aide to the Chief, what does his or her duties involve? I know in the larger cities, they are the IC's eyes and ears of what he cannot see, however, for smaller departments, the Deputy and Assistant do that for him.....give me any information that you may have, thanks!

We call them Command Technicians. More or less they are an assistant to that Chief. Performs administrative, logistical, operational, runner and driver type duties when not working as a "Command Tech" at a fire.
