I was just wondering what kinds of personal stuff; spanners, rope, wedges, ect., do you carry in your turnout gear?
Just wondering.

I carry 2 flashlights, 2 wedges, 1 folding spanner, 10' of webbing, 5' of 1/2" rope, and I am PARANOID of losing my gloves on a call. I carry 2 pair of fire gloves, 1 pair of work gloves, and 1 pair of extrication gloves. I also carry a short nomex hood, for extra and for thermal purposes.

Two flashlights (Pelican Super Sabres - in addition to helmet light), two 10 ft. sections of webbing, a carabiner, four wedges, channel lock pliers, two folding spanners [the new plastic ones w/ the seat belt cutter and window punch](hey Mark, whaddaya do w/ one?), work gloves (fire gloves hang on clip on outside), and (because my wife gave it to me [it's a real pain in the ass, but it has sentimental value]) a survival tool (digging, prying, valve-turning tool).
Hood tip: I have mine sewn into the liner of my jacket. I can't lose it, I can don it as I don my coat, and it NEVER comes untucked.

ok, ok, i'll admit it. I, too, am fascinated (for some odd reason) by what other people carry in their pockets. Sooooo, here's a link to the infamous "what's in those pockets" discussion... enjoy! Don't forget to add any unique things you carry...

Hmmmmmmm, let's see, I carry 60' of rope, 20' of webbing, 4 spanners, a pick-head axe, a 1 3/4" task force tip nozzle, 50' of 2 1/2" hose, a hose clamp, a deck gun w/ stacked tips, a K-12 saw, a halligan, and on my helmet I've mounted a whelen min-edge w/ rapid random flash!!!!!
OK....OK...ALL KIDDING ASIDE!
truthfully, in my coat I carry one pair of fire gloves, in my pants I carry a nomex hood, a pair of fire gloves and a pack of smokes!!
I used to carry all sorts of S*#$ as well, however, I found that I usually didn't use any of it, and it just made me heavier and harder to walk! Seriously, I have found that I can perform harder and longer without the crap that I never used anyway!!
Just my thoughts, in no way am I trying to get on peoples nerves, just voicing what I carry and why!

I carry 1 disposable flashlight, one folding spanner and 1 pair of medical gloves. I hate feeling like a boat anchor with a ton of junk in my pockets and refuse to strap batteries to my head in the form of a flashlight(no need to put something explosive on my head)

I can't understand why you guys need all this stuff... but any way I am not going to include my gloves and hood 'cause I consider that to be part of you standard TOG. In addition to that I have a peice of utility rope and a spanner wrench. I don't have a pocket knife in my gear b/c I usually have one in my pocket for work anyway. All those screwdrivers or pliers b/c we have a set of tools on every truck. I wonder if any of yall's helmets say "go-go gadget" on the back of it?

Helmet has a door wedge and a Garrity LED Light, and if I could ever find my folding carpenter knife, it would be on their too. In my bunkers I keep a pair of extrication gloves, fire gloves, and my Nomex hood. On my bunkers I keep a Green LED Flasher and an identification card.

Do you carry anything? I have a short length or rope, four keep-the-blood-away gloves, a FRED (leftover from Army RatPacks) for eating those little containers of fruit and some small change for the Coke machine. All tools I need are on the trucks. I must add that we don't have any high-rise buildings, so the tools are never far away. Oops, I forgot the barleysugar for masking that 0300 breath...

I'll second that..
All I carry is some webbing, a combo screwdriver, extrication gloves, safety glasses, a few chemlights, and two or three wedges...then I have a knife, flashlight, fire gloves and bailout bag on my truck belt. That's it...and I barely use any of that stuff. I could not imagine carrying more than that..yikes.

WHY as an explorer do you need "a page full of crap" in your pockets...  ???
The only equipment you should be using as an Explorer, especially 98% of the time (unless your Post doesn't do anything), is a notepad, a pen, and maybe a flashlight as well as the extremely required PPE items (i.e. gloves and your nomex hood).
There is NO REASON an Explorer needs 50' of rope, wire cutters, pliers, door wedges, and other unnecessary items.
You need to be carrying a dictionary too... as well as your English teacher, but as the way your message sounds, you do any how... I guess that's part of the stuff you only use 2% of the time.

On my helmet, affixed with the rubber band, is:
Gerber Lifelight
Folding Spanner
2 Wood Chocks

Eventually going to move some items, and throw some glow sticks up there

Accountability tags on hook outside of jacket
Steamlight Survivor Light
When not in use, my Nomex hood is held behind my survivor light
Another shove tool, and a spackle knife, cut for forced entry

Gerber multitool on right side strap
Rescue knife/seat belt cutter on right side strap

i carry a lot of stuff, i guess i can handle it........ who wants to be running back and forth for things that are very easy to stick in your bunker gear pockets or on a rubberband on you lid. Makes no sense to me why people would complain about the weight. For example say you got called to a unknown type of call say a 911 hangup in a highrise say 10 stories and the call turned out to be a stabbing...........would you wana run back down to the rig for ems gloves or just pull them outa your pocket......think about it.

I'm very big into the concept of less is more. Never carry anything in your gear that you don't have a definite practical application for.
Helmet: 1 Door chock...I used to carry a helmet light too but i thought to myself...if I have my hand light on me then why do i need that little thing.
All I carry in my jacket:
Fire Fighting Gloves
Folding Spanner
Wire Cutters
Pants:
20' of webbing in a water knot
Bail out Rope
