I'm not even sure what to make of any of this. My thoughts and prayers go out to everybody in the City of New York, especially to those who are presently trying to sort this all out.
FDNY, DCFD, PGCFD, and all other involved brothers, this firefighter from Jersey is pulling for you.

I want to offer my prayers for the all public safety workers during this outrageous attack on this great nation. I offer my prayers and condolences to all that have and will suffer from this tragedy.
I hope the President finds the insane government who perpetrated this act or are allowing these people to operate out of their nation. This is an act of war and should be treated as such.

I'd like to lend my voice to the growing chorus here. My thoughts and prayers (literally...I'm going out now to church) are with the victims, friends, and families of those lost in these cowardly attacks.
Also - to my brothers and sisters in FDNY and DCFD - I'll keep a good thought for your safety, knowing that you will do the anonymous, heroic things that are your heritage and pride.
God bless America.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who are involved in the operations in NYC and DC also to those who have friends and families in these areas.
Are they asking for volunteers to go and help?

Probably not at this time because New York City is on a lock down -- no one in, no one out....I know people who work there and one was e-mailing me for a while, I think her server's down now.....I'm sure once things "settle" for lack of a better word, they will need help with recovery.

May God be with the families of the fallen FDNY FF's. May their families know that they died w/ selfless service to others. It scares me to think how many. We should all pray for the families and the fallen.
May God also be with the DCFD, PGCFD, and Fairfax FD as they battle the events at the Pentagon.
Stay Safe

I'm afraid the loss of life for NY emergency services may be high. I hope I'm wrong.
I hate to show my ignorance, but I'm surprised the towers had a total collapse. Both tower were struck up high....I can comprehend a collapse above the impact zone...I just wouldn't think it would bring the entire tower to the ground.
Possibly the top floors dropping down one on top of the next....I don't know.

In a complete and utter state of shock right now. My heart goes out to the fellow FF and EMS workers in NYC and DC, especially the families of those that were killed when the two towers collapsed on those working below.

Yes, they were hit up high, but remember, they were hit from below in 1993. They were also big planes at a high rate of speed. The skyline won't be the same. :(

Everyone in my office is stunned. We walk around in total disbelief exchanging the latest news as it comes. My heart goes out to all victims and their families, especially the fire/rescue/police personnel who selflessly run into the chaos when everyone else is running out. I don't know how they can deal with such an overwhelming disaster. The number of fatalities must be sky high. It's hard to believe this is real when I look out the window and see a sunny blue sky. The woman in the office next to me is beside herself, her son is just a few miles from the World Trade Center. He has contacted us by cell phone to let us know he's okay and tell us what it's like to be there. It gives me goose bumps. We are praying for everyone.

My prayers are with the victims. My prayers are with the families. My prayers are with the (?? most likely) fallen brothers, police officers and other emergency personnel.
It is time, once and for all, to take care of Osama Bin Laden, should he be the one responsible for this......If it is not him, then whoever is responsible....MUST PAY. I for one, do not condone the use of nuclear weapons...But it's time to blow the dust off of a few of the low-yield tactical weapons and turn some sand into a big sheet of glass. Has anyone seen the news footage from Palestine of all the ragheads partying in the streets flashing the "V" symbol??? Smoke em...Smoke em all.
God Bless the victims and families. God Bless the fallen brothers. God save whoever did this...

It is absolutely repulsive to see the Palestinian people dancing in the streets while Yassir Arafat is dishing out his sympathies and the sympathies of the Palestinian people.
I don't know if they are responsible. However, their behavior makes me sick.

I heard the "dancing in the streets" thing too, and definetely not a good thing for their team as far as I am concerned. As a member of Canada's armed forces, I am glad I am not on UN duty outside the country right now. We are all in shock here, and are just waiting for the offical response from your President. The prayers from all of us here are with you south of the Border.

My heart is very heavy as I write this and the only thing I can ask is "WHY"? A question no one will ever get an answer to. I send a prayer out to each and everyone of the emergency service workers and their families but most importantly to the families of the innocent victims who lost their lives in this repulsive tragedy. Brothers and Sisters you have not died in vain. May God keep you in his arms in Heaven. You are loved by all, even by those who don't know you and you will be sorely missed.

May God hold dear the souls of Chief Ganci and all of his men that joined him on this last alarm. Reports say that up to 300 firefighters are missing. A tragic day in America...
