What topics do you wish you could train on more?
What does your department not train enough on?
What special props would be beneficial to your department?

Im not in Industrial firefighting but i believe this applies to the question.
I wish my FD would train more on the ICS system. Not just NIMS but more excersises. Large incident corrdination is very diffcult, some areas more than others.
I also would mind learning more about fire behavior and fire control, like alot of people have mentioned on here, the number of fires is decreasing so it would be good to have some more training.

I think maybe the question should be more of what you need, rather than want. It seems that with all the "specialties" becoming more prevelant in today's Fire Service, that we may be getting overwhelmed at times. Your smaller departments can not afford to be trained in Firefighting, EMS, Haz MAt, High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Trench Rescue, etc. Some departments (large and small) have trouble just maintaining FF/EMT's. I think that we will start to see more specialized units (USAR type) that will be relied upon for the technical aspects, and the FD to become more Awareness/Basic response. My opinion.
It is true that the number of fires is decreasing across the country, which means we have been doing good from the Fire Prevention/Education areas. So shouldn't we be devoting more time to Firefighting strategies and techniques? I think yes. But I also think any training is beneficial if we can stop the injuries/deaths from rising and to get these numbers down for good.
